The number of UK households is projected to grow to just under 25 Million, up 18.50% from the 2003 level, with the highest growth in the South West, East of England, London and East Midlands.

The country needs more houses, the UK has one of the fastest growing populations in Europe and is the second most densely populated. The Government has begun to acknowledge the impact that this will have on the future competitiveness of the country and has started to push through ambitious plans for the future. The Government has indicated that the rate of house building over the next 5 to 10 years will be the highest since the 1960s.
