“An increasing number of international investors have started to buy land in the UK. The appreciation of the euro has meant that a number of buyers, most notably from France, Ireland and the Benelux region are taking the opportunity to own a small piece of England.”
Acquiring your first parcel of land in the UK is a very simple process, but we understand there will always be questions. These are some of the most frequently asked questions, but please contact Quadra if your question is not answered here or you require further information.
Frequently asked questions:
- Can I apply for planning permission individually for my freehold land?
- How much is the typical cost of a parcel of land?
- Am I able to buy more than one parcel of land in each location?
- Can the land be used after I own the Freehold?
- Do you assist land owners with selling their land?
- Do I have to pay rates on any of the land I purchase?
- What other costs do I have to pay besides the purchase price?
- Should I insure the land I purchase?
Can I apply for planning permission individually for my land?
Yes you can, but it is unlikely that a planning application for a single parcel would be successful. If a local authority is going to re-zone land then this would be part of a much bigger plan for the area which can take a number of years to happen.
How much is the typical cost of a parcel of land?
This will depend on location and size. Sites that are in towns or near cities will often be worth more than a semi-rural site. The parcel of land is priced according to the cost of acquisition, of the site and the location. The price of a parcel of UK land can be considerably lower than other forms of property purchase.
